The census of 1850 was the first one that listed every member of the household by name and is therefore a very important genealogical resource. All numbers listed are families unless otherwise stated. There were 97 people in total with the Buggy name.[1][2] You will be able to click on all maps in this series for closer detail.
As shown in previous posts, variants of the Buggy name have been evident throughout history. Like Buggy, many of these survived into the 19th century, and in some cases were numerous. Throughout this US census series I will keep totals of different variants of the name: Bugg 492, Bug 15, Bugge 5-6, Buge 5, Buggey 2, Buggie 0, Bogaig 0.

[1] A George Buggy has been transcribed as living in Monroe Co. Georgia, which would give 98 people. However, he is living with ten other people with the name Burgy. I believe this is an error in the transcription.
