The Land Purchase Act Advances 1916

The Irish Land Commission oversaw the wholesale transfer of land from estate owners to tenant farmers during the 19th and 20th centuries.  One publication from their records outlines the advances of money for the purchase of land from the former estate of Viscount Mountgarrett in counties Wexford and Kilkenny. These advances were made on 20 April 1916 and all three are for land in county Kilkenny.[1]
