A report on mining in the state of Pennsylvania lists a Thomas Buggy of Barnesboro as an assistant mine foreman. To obtain the position he had to pass an examination which was held at the Miner’s Hall in Patten, PA from 10-12 April 1918. For the purposes of the report this was in relation to the fifteenth bituminous district, which covered the counties of Cambria, Indiana and Clearfield.
