Irish Teachers Union 1874

The Irish Teachers Journal and Magazine of January-June 1874 mentions teachers with the surname Buggy in relation to various activities of the Irish Teachers Union.[1]

A John Buggy is first listed in the notes of the South Kilkenny Association where he is thanked for his work as county secretary. He is mentioned a number of times in various correspondences throughout the publications due to his position in the association. It is stated that he worked at Dunmore National School.

In the notes for the Durrow and Abbeyleix Association there is a Buggy (no first name) from Shanahoe listed who gave the sum of 2s 6d to the association.
