The War of Independence and the Civil War were fought in Ireland from 1919-1923. Many men from all over the country fought the British forces and then fought each other after the signing of the Treaty.
James Buggy from Ballyouskill is listed as a volunteer in the 3rd Battalion (North Kilkenny) Kilkenny Brigade, IRA volunteers, C. Company Ballyouskill.[1]
